Dear Guests,
I would like to warmly welcome you, and share with you a part of the young history y of the Centrum Polskie. The idea of opening up a Polish centre in Brussels, a city where several thousand Poles and Polish descendents reside, was present for a very long time. In September 1997, with the help of the Polish Catholic mission and a group of extraordinary people, the dream became a reality. Many of us carry strong emotional ties to our homeland, and we are concerned about maintaining our heritage in this "foreign" land. Maintaining the rich legacy of our forefathers is a duty that each of us has. Centrum Polskie is a not-for profit organisation, which is financed without any external assistance. The funds needed for our day to day functioning are assured by our restaurant as well as through the rental of our guest rooms, and the auditorium. This leaves open the way for the realisation of a wide varieties of activities aimed at promoting Polish culture in Belgium, such as concerts, exhibitions, and meetings with well-known figures from the world art, culture, academia, and politics. As our guests, you are contributing actively to this mission. For us Poles it is a living opportunity to contribute to a rich and multicultural future.
